Revamped Audi Q8 by ABT
In September 2023, Audi introduced a mid-lifecycle update for the Q8 and SQ8, with the RS Q8 following in June 2024. ABT Sportsline quickly capitalized on these changes, unveiling a comprehensive tuning kit for the refreshed SUVs. This kit not only enhances the vehicle’s performance but also introduces aggressive aerodynamic and interior upgrades, creating a more dynamic version of Audi’s luxury SUV. These modifications apply to both the V6-powered Q8 and the V8-equipped SQ8, giving customers several customization options.
Unleashing the Power of the SQ8
The most significant update from ABT comes in the form of the SQ8’s powertrain. Equipped with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, the ABT Power S module pushes the SQ8’s horsepower to 641 hp (650 PS), an increase of 141 hp compared to the stock version.
By the Numbers
The torque is equally impressive, reaching 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). Notably, this puts the ABT-tuned SQ8 ahead of Audi’s own RS Q8 Performance by 9 hp. While ABT has yet to announce updates for the facelifted RS Q8, their previous models show a tuning potential that exceeds even Lamborghini’s Urus, offering up to 790 hp.
A New Look for Performance
ABT’s aerodynamic kit is a highlight of the Q8 and SQ8’s makeover. The exterior gains a sportier, more aggressive stance with modifications like a front splitter, side gills, a rear spoiler, and a rear skirt outfitted with four exhaust pipes. Optional carbon fiber fender extensions further enhance the SUV’s bold aesthetics. Additionally, the package includes a lowering module that drops the SUV by up to 25 mm (1 inch), improving its stance and handling. The entire package is set off by custom wheels, available in 22- and 23-inch designs.
ABT-ified Cabin
The interior receives upgrades to match the exterior’s sporty flair. ABT’s touch includes glossy carbon fiber trim on the dashboard, seat frames, and gear selector, with illuminated door sills and an ABT-branded start-stop button. Audi’s already luxurious interior features, like its four-zone climate control and Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, remain intact.
How Much Does the Upgrade Cost?
For those looking to upgrade their Audi Q8 or SQ8 with ABT’s full range of enhancements, the price quickly adds up. The power boost alone costs €11,588 ($12,510), while the aerodynamic kit is priced at €6,403 ($6,913). The suspension upgrades add another €2,512 ($2,712), and the custom wheels range from €5,210 ($5,624) to €9,546 ($10,306), depending on the size and design. Interior upgrades will cost €1,675 ($1,808). In total, opting for the complete ABT tuning package could set you back €35,573 ($38,402), before tax.
